Ind-NZ Test: Cricket fever grips the Kanpurites

Kanpurites are surely enjoying the India Vs New Zealand test match at the Green Park Stadium. The excitement is high with an international match being played in the city after a gap of five years. The crowd gathered at the stadium much before the gates were opened.

There was a huge crowd to see the teams practicing at the nets. Later, during the match, the crowd kept cheering the Indian batsman.Fans in the stands were seen clicking pictures of the match and also selfies.

The craze for the test match was also visible outside the stadium as cricket lovers were spotted carrying score placards and Indian flags to cheer for team India. We also spotted many fans getting their faces painted with tri-color.

Some cricket enthusiasts were also seen buying tickets at the last moment. Ritesh Goel, a cricket enthusiast, said, “I have purchased four more tickets as my friends would be joining me to watch the match.”

Though the visibility in the ground was a bit low owing to the haze, gradually it cleared up, adding fun to the match-watching experience of the audiences.

Being a test match, fans are also busy making arrangements for tickets and passes as they want to experience the last moment of thrill on the weekend. The thrill of the match is still continuing and more audiences are expected during the weekend. Though the team India is missing the senior players still the craze is high amongst cricket enthusiasts of the city.
